What are we doing here in India?

In case you are wondering what we are doing here in India, let me tell you! We are here volunteering for a organization called HOPE Worldwide. We chose India for many reasons, but the main reason is because there is so much needed to be done. It is country filled with desperate poverty and great need. Specifically, we are working in Bangalore, at a school for children. These children come from very poor families, many of them are abused and neglected. The HOPE foundation here in India gives these children an opportunity to go to school for free. The school is sponsored by local corporate donations. However, this is not enough. We are currently working on a project that will enable these children to be sponsored throughout their whole academic career by individual donors, like me and you. We are working with a team of other individuals to set up a web based organization through HOPE, by creating personal profiles of the children. These profiles will let people around the world to see their faces and be touched by their stories. The dream is for people everywhere to be a part of this wonderful school, by sponsoring a child. This blog will be about our journey.
