India Transportation

You have four choices: walk, motorcycle, ride the bus, or get an "Auto." Walking to the Tannery Rd. School is out of the question for us, it is too far. It is suicide to try and drive a motorcycle through the Bangalore traffic, we would get squished. I wanted to try renting a motorcycle so we could ride in style to school, but D'Auna thinks it a bad idea (watch the video and see why). There is no bus stop where we are staying so that leaves us with one option the "Auto Rickshaw."

Don't be fooled by the docile demeanor, this mean looking machine has a thrilling 100cc motor that sounds like a weed-wacker. It goes 0 to 15 mph in around 5 seconds. The backseat is meant to fit two comfortably, but we have at times fit four and most days we are riding with three. Every driver attempts to make their Rickshaw unique and there are tens of thousands of them in Bangalore alone. Its a crazy ride...

  1. I have heard about the crazy driving there. That video was great! Love the cows in the road, like there isn't enough other obstacles to worry about.

  2. Hello Chris and D'Auna, Your kind efforts are highly appreciated - being far away from home, in uncomfortable surroundings, helping Indian students learn. My gratitude and thanks to you and your team for doing this.
